The “Sweetest Thing”

Hmmmm…. Lollies… Well maybe not so soon after Christmas, when everyone is trying to be good, but who can resist?

Today I have been playing around with the new Occasions Catalogue photopolymer set the “Sweetest Thing”. I made a few cards and I’d like to share two of my favourites with you.

I tried to keep the first one simple and taking inspiration from the co-ordinating Designer Series Paper I used Coastal Cabana as my base card stock and then two layers of the DSP which I used the NEW Layering Rectangle and the Stitched Shape framelit dies to add a little stitching detail.

I coloured in the stamped images with my Stampin’ Blends™, using Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Old Olive combo sets. Remember to use Memento Ink (water based) so the alcohol from the Stampin’ Blends™ doesn’t bleed into your work. The Old Olive linen thread on the jar top is from the Needlepoint Nook range on Pg 38 & 39 of the catalogue and the little enamel dot comes from the Happiness Blooms range on Pages 24-26 of the Occasions Catalogue.

If you don’t have all the extra’s you can certainly colour some white linen thread with an Old Olive marker or use a clear gem and colour it with a stampin’Blend™. There are always ways to tweak any design and the supplies, if you don’t have absolutely everything to hand. You can always order the things you don’t have later, remembering that right now during Sale-A-Bration for every $90AUD you spend, you can choose from a range of FREE products. Woo Hoo!

My second card is a bit more detailed and involved using the Stitched Square dies to cut out two windows in my card. By using the co-ordinating Jar of Sweets framelit dies, I die cut the sweety jars from the DSP and fussy cut the sweets from the same sheet of DSP. The greeting was stamped in Memento Black except for the word SWEET, for this I used my Stampin’ Write marker pens to colour the word and create a rainbow effect. See the product list below for both projects.

Check out the word SWEET that I rainbow stamped using markers.

I hope you like the cards and certainly go and check out the rest of the products in this range. The Reversible ribbon and tags are cute as and don’t even get me started on the Sweet Cups!!! Oh my I can see myself making some fun projects with those.

Thanks for stopping by.

Kelly
